Faculty position in Nucleic Acid Based Nanomedicine

About the role

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia invite applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty position in nucleic‑acid based nanomedicine. The appointment will be joint between the two departments and may be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research program focused on nucleic‑acid nanomedicine.
• Secure external research funding and manage research budgets.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, and related engineering topics.
• Supervise graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, and undergraduate researchers.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and university committees.

Required profile

• PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and evidence of research excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain competitive research funding.
