Experienced Pipelayer – Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking experienced pipelayers to join our civil team in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The role involves installing underground water, sanitary, storm and drainage systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems.
• Read and interpret grade stakes, utility drawings, and project specifications.
• Assist with trench preparation, pipe alignment, bedding, and backfilling activities.
• Install manholes, catch basins, culverts, and related infrastructure.
• Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and survey crews while following safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a pipelayer in civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and specifications.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious and punctual, able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Required skills

• Experience installing water, sanitary, storm and drainage systems.
• Knowledge of trench safety requirements and underground utility installation practices.
• Experience working around excavators and other heavy equipment.

Additional assets

• Experience with municipal infrastructure and underground utility projects.
• Experience installing large‑diameter pipe.
• CSTS, Ground Disturbance Level II, and Confined Space certifications.
• Experience working with laser levels and grade checking equipment.
