Excavator Operator – Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Civil Division. The role is essential for completing earthworks, underground utility installations, and site development projects safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic excavators for trenching, excavating, backfilling, grading, sloping, and material handling.
• Excavate accurately around underground utilities, pipelines, and structures while following project specifications.
• Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and report any issues promptly.
• Collaborate with supervisors, grade crews, and team members to keep projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating excavators in civil construction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong understanding of excavation techniques, soil conditions, and safe digging practices.
• Ability to work safely around underground and overhead utilities.
• Flexibility to work overtime or shift work as needed.

Required skills

• Hydraulic excavator operation.
• GPS machine‑control systems (Topcon or Trimble).
• Reading grade stakes, site plans, and blueprints.
