Event Assistant (Student Work‑Study)

About the role

The Communications & Production unit at McGill University is seeking a motivated student to support ticket sales and front‑of‑house operations for concerts and events. This part‑time, work‑study position offers hands‑on experience in a vibrant cultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person and telephone ticket sales using a web‑based ticketing system (training provided).
• Balance and account for credit and debit card receipts from daily transactions.
• Distribute reserved tickets and manage ticket inventory.
• Answer phone inquiries about concert schedules, programs, and locations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the team.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Professional, proactive, and available to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• High conversational proficiency in both French and English.
• Basic knowledge of concert music; CPR and First Aid training are assets.
• Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work on the McGill campus in Quebec.
