Estate Litigation Lawyer (Associate)

About the role

Kohler Family Law, a boutique family law firm in Langley, is expanding its estate practice and seeks a motivated associate to handle estate litigation matters. You will work independently while collaborating with the firm’s lawyers and support staff, providing high‑level representation to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on estate planning, probate, and administration matters.
• Draft wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and related documents.
• Prepare and file probate and estate administration applications.
• Represent executors, beneficiaries, and other parties in estate disputes and litigation.
• Manage client files from intake through resolution, ensuring thorough documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases and share knowledge within the firm.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience practicing estate law in British Columbia.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, or eligible for membership.
• Strong knowledge of BC estate law, including wills, probate, administration, and related disputes.
• Excellent client‑focused communication and judgment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
