Equity Research Associate – Mining

About the role

You will join a collaborative Capital Markets team in Toronto, supporting the Mining Analyst with fundamental equity and commodity research. The position offers continuous learning, exposure to institutional investors, and a competitive total rewards package.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance detailed company‑specific and macro‑level financial models for mining firms.
• Maintain and update sector‑specific databases, presentations, and research materials.
• Build and sustain relationships with coverage companies, investors, and internal Capital Markets stakeholders.
• Analyze financial statements, company data, and industry trends to generate actionable insights.
• Assist in drafting research notes, sector reports, and other client‑facing deliverables.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Applied Science (e.g., Engineering, Geology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics).
• CA/CMA, MBA, CFA designation or enrollment in the CFA program preferred.
• Strong written communication and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented with solid analytical skills and a passion for equity/financial markets.
• Self‑motivated, energetic, and able to work under pressure.
