English Teaching Assistant (Graduate Student)

About the role

McGill University is seeking graduate students from the English Program to serve as Teaching Assistants for a range of undergraduate courses. This fixed‑term position runs from August 31 2026 to January 5 2027 and combines in‑person and virtual teaching responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Host and facilitate small‑group discussions on Zoom or in‑person.
• Grade assignments and provide constructive feedback.
• Attend lectures, read course materials and support course delivery.
• Communicate with students via the myCourses learning management system regarding submissions and queries.

Required profile

• Current graduate student enrolled in the McGill English Program.
• Available to work on‑site at the Arts Building for the term (August 31 2026 – January 5 2027).
• Commitment to equity, diversity and academic excellence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Zoom video‑conferencing platform.
• Experience using WebEx for virtual teaching.
• Familiarity with the myCourses learning management system.
