Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits each year, providing acute care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship of medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural program.
• Contribute to quality improvement and leadership initiatives, including Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Support the upcoming expansion of the emergency department and hospital services.

Required profile

• Current certification with CCFP, CCFP (Emergency Medicine) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility for mentorship; new Canadian graduates or international medical graduates are welcome.
• Commitment to work in a community hospital setting.
