Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a broad spectrum of cases and procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Perform emergency procedures and collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the evolving scope of practice as new hospital facilities are added.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Emergency department experience is an asset, but mentorship is provided for new graduates and international medical graduates.
