Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, with opportunities to teach medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural program.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage a diverse range of emergency cases in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Provide procedural care and participate in teaching and mentorship activities.
• Contribute to leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Support the transition to the new expanded emergency department slated for completion by 2029.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Emergency medicine experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new graduates.
• Eligibility to practice in Canada (Canadian or international medical graduate).
