About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a broad spectrum of cases and procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute care to patients of all ages in a high‑volume emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the ongoing CMH redevelopment project, including the new expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Current certification with CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work in a community hospital setting and engage in teaching.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in emergency medicine.
• Ability to manage diverse acute presentations and perform emergency procedures.
