About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and ample procedural experience. You will also have the chance to teach medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages in a high‑volume, 24/7 department.
• Perform emergency procedures and collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Mentor and teach medical students and residents as part of the UBC rural program.
• Participate in leadership development through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives and the upcoming hospital redevelopment.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work in a rural, 24/7 emergency setting.
• Interest in teaching, mentorship, and community involvement.
