Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a broad case mix and ample procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities via Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the evolving scope of practice as new services are added during the CMH redevelopment.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Emergency experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new graduates and international medical graduates.
