Emergency Medicine Physician – Kelowna General Hospital

About the role

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join the dynamic team at Kelowna General Hospital’s busy Emergency Department. The role offers the chance to work in a tertiary referral centre serving over 100,000 annual ED visits, with exposure to trauma, complex medical cases, and advanced cardiac critical care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including trauma and cardiac emergencies.
• Collaborate with consultants and specialists, often on a first‑name basis, to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in mentorship and teaching activities within the FRCPC Emergency Medicine residency program and other academic initiatives.
• Contribute to a collegial department culture through teamwork, knowledge sharing, and community‑building activities.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Emergency Medicine physician with strong clinical expertise.
• Enthusiasm for teaching, mentorship, and academic involvement.
• Commitment to a collaborative, collegial work environment.

Required skills

• Emergency medicine clinical practice

• Cardiac critical care (including ECMO)
• Stroke management
• Endovascular thrombectomy
