About the role

The North Island Hospital in Campbell River is seeking board‑certified Emergency Medicine Physicians to join its busy Emergency Department, which handles roughly 70 visits per day (about 25,000 annually). The position offers flexible scheduling, a supportive teaching environment through the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program, and a high quality of life on Vancouver Island.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate with local specialties including ICU, general surgery, anesthesia, OB/GYN, pediatrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and ENT.
• Participate in teaching medical students and residents as part of the UBC Island Medical Program.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to provincial medical standards.

Required profile

• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Board certification or equivalent training in Emergency Medicine.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
