Emergency Medicine Physician in Kelowna

About the role

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join the dynamic team at Kelowna General Hospital. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care in a state‑of‑the‑art department that serves over 100,000 annual visits and a diverse catchment area.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute medical, trauma and complex cases in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with consultants and specialists, often on a first‑name basis, to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in on‑call coverage for the Level 2 Trauma Centre and stroke referral services.
• Engage in teaching activities for residents and medical students, including bedside teaching, simulation sessions and ultrasound training.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Emergency Medicine physician with experience in a high‑volume ED.
• Strong interest in mentorship, teamwork and a collegial work environment.
• Enthusiasm for academic involvement and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Emergency medicine clinical expertise.
• Trauma and complex case management.
• Proficiency in point‑of‑care ultrasound.
• Simulation‑based education techniques.
