Emergency Medicine Physician (Full/Part-time)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time and/or part‑time physician to join the Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, BC. This rural position offers the chance to provide 24/7 emergency stabilization and triage for a community of 16 beds, serving local residents and travelers on major highways.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency medical care, stabilization and triage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Manage acute and trauma cases in a small‑community hospital setting.
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to ensure safe patient flow.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide coverage for hospice services as needed.

Required profile

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC, CCFP‑EM or ABEM).
• Eligibility for provisional or full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• Willingness to work in a rural environment located two hours east of Vancouver.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
