Educational Assistant – Support Students with Complex Needs

About the role

The Educational Assistant joins the La Crete Public School team to provide targeted support to students, focusing on numeracy, literacy, connectivity and career readiness. This role works directly with a complex‑needs student and contributes to an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students in classroom settings, individually and in small groups as directed by school administration.
• Deliver literacy interventions based on the Science of Reading and support K‑9 mathematics learning.
• Provide social‑emotional support and help students develop connectivity and career skills.
• Collaborate confidentially with teachers, support staff and parents to tailor interventions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of the Science of Reading, literacy interventions, K‑9 math concepts and social‑emotional support strategies.
• Experience working with students in a school setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Understanding of literacy intervention techniques.
• Familiarity with K‑9 mathematics curricula.
• Competence in delivering social‑emotional support.

What we offer

• 32.5 hours per week starting September 2 2026.
• Salary determined by qualifications and experience.
