Early Years Teacher On-Call (ECE)

About the role

Mulgrave School is seeking enthusiastic Early Years teachers on‑call to support its youngest learners. The role involves stepping in for staff absences, assisting with special events, and helping create a nurturing classroom environment. Candidates must be flexible, caring and ready to engage children in meaningful play.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with day‑to‑day running of the programme.
• Deliver the prescribed program of study using lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Assist with lunch coverage and classroom tidy‑up.
• Provide toileting support and after‑school care until 4:30 pm when required.
• Manage student behaviour and maintain classroom routines.
• Tend to students’ physical, emotional and social needs.
• Ensure a respectful, safe and nurturing play environment.
• Interact with students through meaningful play and teamwork.

Required profile

• Hold an ECE Teaching Certification or ECE Assistant Certification with a clear criminal record check.
• Possess an age‑appropriate First Aid Certification.
• Demonstrate a love for working with children and a flexible, can‑do attitude.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, parents and students.
• Team spirit, initiative and adaptability.
