Early Childhood Educator Assistant

About the role

Join BGC Okanagan as a Casual Early Childhood Educator Assistant, providing lunch‑time coverage for Early Years Childcare programs at the Ellison, Alexis Park and Mission Hill sites in Vernon. You will help create a nurturing, fun, and safe environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing programs that align with agency core values and promote positive child development.
• Ensure programs engage children, foster a sense of belonging, and meet specific developmental goals.
• Provide a nurturing, fun, and safe environment, attending to children’s physical needs such as diapering, toileting, eating, and sleeping.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians.
• Maintain clean and safe program facilities and equipment, reporting any repairs or concerns to senior staff.

Required profile

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification (required).
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Successful completion of agency screening, including a criminal record check.
