Distribution Center Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading Canadian distributor of HVAC and plumbing products, is seeking a Distribution Centre Manager for its Mississauga facility. You will oversee all warehouse and delivery operations, ensuring fast, accurate service to customers and branches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead inbound, outbound, and inter‑branch warehouse operations (receiving, picking, loading, transfers, cross‑docking, vendor pick‑ups)
• Own delivery routing and scheduling to maximize timeliness, accuracy and profitability
• Drive inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage through cycle counts, data analysis and process improvement
• Lead, coach and develop a cross‑trained team of supervisors, warehouse associates and drivers
• Manage fleet, material handling equipment and transportation compliance (MTO/CVOR)
• Monitor KPIs and spearhead continuous‑improvement initiatives
• Act as primary liaison with transportation and logistics providers; manage RFPs and identify freight cost savings
• Champion health and safety as a JHSC leader, ensuring a safe and compliant facility

Required profile

• 5+ years managing a mid‑to‑large distribution centre, preferably in plumbing/HVAC, wholesale parts or related logistics
• 5+ years of leadership experience building high‑performing teams
• Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related field (Lean Six Sigma or similar certifications a plus)

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise in fleet management, transportation compliance, inventory control and cycle counting
• Strong working knowledge of WMS/ERP and routing systems (experience with Mincron or PKMS an asset)
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and lead change
• Solid knowledge of Ontario OHSA and commitment to workplace safety
