About the role

Join the dynamic culinary team at The Sylvia Hotel as a Dishwasher. You will play a vital part in keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and efficient, ensuring dishes, utensils and equipment are ready for service in a historic hotel overlooking English Bay.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, rinse and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen tools following proper food‑handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure equipment operates correctly.
• Organise and store clean items in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to uphold sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with waste disposal and recycling to keep the workspace tidy and environmentally friendly.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm to learn; prior experience in a restaurant, hotel or food‑service environment is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
