Director, Stewardship

About the role

The Director, Stewardship will lead BCI’s stewardship programme within the Capital Markets & Credit Investments unit. Reporting to the Senior Managing Director & Global Head of ESG, you will shape responsible investing practices by engaging with portfolio companies, boards, and global standard‑setters.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive engagement programme for equities and fixed‑income holdings, including proxy voting and collaborative initiatives.
• Drive the Influence pillar of BCI’s Corporate ESG Strategy and Climate Action Plan.
• Build and maintain relationships with portfolio company management, board directors, and external ESG organisations such as Climate Action 100+.
• Lead a team of stewardship professionals, providing mentorship and performance oversight.
• Collaborate with internal CM&CI teams and external investment peers on ESG matters.

Required profile

• Seasoned ESG professional with deep capital‑markets expertise.
• Proven track record of building relationships that preserve and create shareholder value.
• Long‑term investing mindset and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Credibility with senior management and board members.
