Director, Shared Services

About the role

Are you a strategic financial leader with experience overseeing complex, multi‑region shared services functions? This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of payroll, billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable for a large, field‑based workforce across Canada and the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Shared Services functions, including payroll, billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Lead the payroll function for a large, field‑based workforce across Canada and the United States, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Partner with Operations, HR, Finance and Treasury to design scalable processes, optimise cash flow and strengthen internal controls.
• Drive integration of newly acquired entities into the Shared Services model, standardising processes and implementing controls.
• Build, develop and mentor high‑performing teams through coaching, succession planning and performance management.

Required profile

• Business, Accounting or Finance degree (or equivalent experience).
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 7 + years of progressive finance leadership experience, including controllership and shared‑services oversight.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
