Director of Security, Estates and Resilience

About the role

The State Hospitals Board for Scotland is seeking a strategic leader to oversee Security, Estates & Facilities and the Resilience Team for its high‑secure hospital. Reporting to senior management, you will shape policy, drive continuous improvement and ensure the safety of patients, staff and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of security strategies across a high‑secure hospital environment.
• Oversee estates and facilities management, ensuring compliance with health‑care standards and regulatory requirements.
• Direct the Resilience Team to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and incidents.
• Manage a senior on‑call rota and coordinate incident response across departments.
• Drive change initiatives, monitor performance metrics and report progress to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level experience in security, estates or resilience within high‑secure or complex environments.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects and leading organisational change.
• Strong leadership qualities, vision and the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
