Director of Operations – North America

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead all North American manufacturing facilities for a top‑tier automotive company in the Greater Toronto Area. The role combines strategic translation of corporate goals into actionable plans with hands‑on leadership on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular on‑site presence to assess performance, risks and drive corrective actions.
• Lead plant leadership teams in daily/weekly operational reviews, problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
• Own safety, quality and regulatory compliance (OHSA, OSHA, CSA, EPA) across all sites.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma and standardized KPIs, visual management and operating rhythms.
• Manage operational budgets, cost control, labor efficiency and approve capital expenditures.
• Provide direct support during production disruptions, quality escapes, safety incidents or customer escalations.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on manufacturing leader with deep operational experience in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong track record of driving safety, quality, delivery, cost and people performance.
• Ability to translate corporate strategy into executable operating plans.
• Experience in the automotive or related heavy‑industry sector is preferred.
