About the role

This executive‑level position leads the strategic growth of a national major‑giving program in Canada, creating meaningful philanthropic impact. The role combines strategic vision, relationship‑building expertise, and operational leadership to expand fundraising opportunities and drive transformational revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and long‑term direction for national major‑gift and philanthropic development initiatives.
• Drive revenue growth by establishing fundraising objectives, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a specialized major‑gifts team to achieve strong performance and continuous improvement.
• Build and manage a portfolio of high‑capacity donors and prospects, securing transformational and multi‑year philanthropic investments.
• Develop scalable fundraising processes, donor engagement strategies, and best practices to strengthen the major‑gifts pipeline.
• Establish trusted relationships with donors, volunteers, senior leaders, and external partners.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align donor interests with organizational priorities, funding needs, and mission objectives.
• Represent the organization externally through donor meetings, fundraising activities, and relationship‑building initiatives across Canada.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, philanthropy, major gifts, or business development within a mission‑driven organization.
• Proven success securing major and transformational donations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams and achieve ambitious revenue goals.
• Strong strategic thinking and relationship‑building capabilities.
