About the role
The Dimensional Engineer will ensure that automotive components meet precise dimensional specifications throughout production. Working within TI Automotive’s engineering team, you will apply GD&T principles and advanced metrology techniques to guarantee part fitment, quality, and functional performance.
Key responsibilities
- Program and operate bridge CMMs using PC‑DMIS to inspect injection‑molded parts and assemblies.
- Perform statistical tolerance analyses (RSS, Monte Carlo) and use Cetol 6 Sigma for 3‑D variation studies.
- Review customer GD&T requirements and develop in‑process datum strategies aligned with functional needs.
- Create DCS‑QDM templates, conduct capability studies, normality tests, and Tukey outlier detection to validate data quality.
- Design and approve check fixtures, generate RFQs, and review build‑buyoff documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve dimensional issues such as gaps, misalignments, and rattling.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to provide dimensional guidance and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Strong background in metrology and dimensional control for automotive parts.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply GD&T standards.
- Experience communicating technical findings to cross‑functional teams.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with solid problem‑solving skills.
