Dietary Aide - Long Term Care

About the role

Sampson & Rutherford (S&R Group) is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for its long-term care homes in Sarnia. The role helps serve residents during meal times and special events, contributing to a warm, welcoming culinary atmosphere. Applicants are contacted within a week of applying if they hold credentials.

Key responsibilities

• Greet residents and answer questions courteously and professionally
• Connect with residents before meals to ask how their day was and what they look forward to
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals while being mindful of special diets, textures and needs
• Help set up and maintain a home-like environment, including the dining experience
• Take part in special events such as resident activities (e.g., cupcake tasting, summer barbecue)
• Set up and clear the dining room
• Wash dishes and clean and sanitize the kitchen area
• Assist with food preparation as assigned and support the team

Required profile

• Certification in the Food Safety Awareness course, with recertification every 5 years
• Past experience in a healthcare, hospitality or restaurant setting
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
• TB 2 Step test updated within the last year
