DevOps Engineer (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Optum is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure and continuous delivery pipelines for its Stratus Imaging solution in Google Cloud. The role is fully remote within Canada (excluding Saskatchewan) and works closely with application development and SRE teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and support application infrastructure in Google Cloud environments.
• Create and maintain reusable Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) components.
• Automate deployment, configuration, scaling, and cybersecurity controls for cloud applications.
• Set up and maintain test and production environments.
• Produce documentation, test plans, and monitor production data to recommend improvements.
• Contribute to DevOps policies, procedures, and Agile collaboration with product, operations, and support teams.
• Leverage enterprise‑approved AI tools to streamline workflows and drive innovation.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or higher.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of continuous delivery experience for cloud‑based SaaS/PaaS solutions.
• 2+ years of programming/scripting experience, especially Bash and Python.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
