Destination Development Manager – Québec City

About the role

The Destination Development Manager will act as the trusted local expert for Cantrav in the meetings and events industry, driving awareness, demand and long‑term value for the company in Québec City and its surrounding region.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture a referral network of hotels, venues and Destination Marketing Organizations to position Cantrav as the go‑to DMC and event production partner.
• Generate sustainable, profitable business through strategic relationship building, destination advocacy and disciplined sales execution.
• Deliver formal presentations to key decision‑makers, clearly articulating Cantrav’s value proposition.
• Maintain regular, effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, external partners and contractors.
• Stay up‑to‑date on tourism infrastructure and market trends in Québec City to inform sales strategies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in sales or business development within the hotel, event or tourism sector.
• Background in destination management or closely related experience.
• Proven ability to drive sales growth and develop professional relationships through negotiation and collaboration.
• Highly organized, energetic self‑starter with strong written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of the tourism industry and infrastructure in Québec City and surrounding areas.
• Strong time‑management abilities and a high level of accountability, tact and diplomacy.
