Dean of Faculty of Science

About the role

Langara College is seeking a senior academic leader to serve as Dean of the Faculty of Science. The Dean will provide strategic direction for a diverse portfolio of STEM, engineering, computer science and health science programs, overseeing curriculum, faculty, resources and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Articulate and implement a shared vision, mission and goals for the Faculty aligned with the College’s strategic plan.
• Lead the development, approval and continuous improvement of academic programs and curricula.
• Manage the Faculty’s budget, allocate resources and ensure effective stewardship of facilities.
• Foster research, scholarship and applied learning opportunities, including industry and community collaborations.
• Oversee recruitment, development and evaluation of faculty and staff.
• Represent the Faculty in internal and external forums, building partnerships with industry, government and other post‑secondary institutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior academic leadership experience, preferably as a dean, associate dean or department head.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage academic programs across multiple disciplines.
• Strong record of fostering research, innovation and experiential learning.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and student well‑being.
