Data Scientist – Predictive Analytics for E‑commerce

About the role

Parts Avatar is looking for a Data Scientist to drive data‑driven solutions across its e‑commerce platform. The role focuses on predictive modelling, personalization, and demand forecasting to improve user experience and optimise supply‑chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, preprocess, and analyse data from multiple sources to uncover trends and opportunities.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain machine‑learning models for demand prediction and inventory optimisation.
• Design and implement recommendation and personalization algorithms to enhance the customer journey.
• Analyse marketing data to attribute performance, extract insights, and optimise acquisition and retention strategies.
• Build frameworks to analyse returns data, identify root causes and propose mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Create and maintain KPI dashboards and reports to monitor business performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• Proven analytical mindset with ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong collaborative skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

Required skills

• Python (including Pandas/Polars, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch)
• SQL for data querying and manipulation
• Machine‑learning concepts and algorithms
• Data visualisation tools
• Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
