About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to design and implement scalable ETL pipelines and data models for a cloud‑based analytics platform. The role is based in Toronto with a hybrid schedule (2‑3 days onsite) and will run for a 7‑month fixed‑term contract.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain large‑scale ETL pipelines using Python (PySpark, Pandas) and Java.
- Build and optimise data models and SQL queries for high‑performance analytics.
- Implement data solutions on Databricks or Snowflake within Azure or GCP environments.
- Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
- Integrate external APIs and support CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins.
- Collaborate in an Agile, test‑driven development setting, applying TDD practices.
Required profile
- 6–8 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Strong background in building production‑grade ETL pipelines and data models.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) and modern big‑data tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
