Data Annotation Specialist – Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)

About the role

Cohere is looking for a part‑time Data Annotation Specialist to break down engineering tasks into discrete steps that can be taught to its AI models. The role is remote within Canada, requires a minimum of 16 hours per week, and pays CAD 30 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the model's ability to respond to engineering procedures and workflows.
• Task models to complete engineering tasks using verified information and assess response accuracy.
• Label, proofread, and improve both machine‑written and human‑written engineering outputs.
• Follow Cohere’s style guide and recommend adjustments for edge‑case scenarios.

Required profile

• 3+ years of industry experience in civil, mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering.
• Technician or engineering specialist training preferred.
• Formal engineering education (Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent).
• Experience on medium‑large scale engineering projects involving design, prototyping and manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CAD software, material billing and product lifecycle management (PCMs).
