Cycle Counter – Inventory Control

About the role

The Cycle Counter is a finance‑focused inventory position responsible for performing regular cycle counts, maintaining accurate records of material, equipment and merchandise, and supporting the Food Safety Program at Sysco’s Milton distribution centre.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a minimum of four cycle counts per year, including one full count each quarter.
• Count designated high‑value items, investigate discrepancies and report findings.
• Research receiving packets returned from Accounts Payable and report errors to the Inventory Control Manager.
• Review and adjust damage reports from Operations, comparing them with actual warehouse damage.
• Investigate and resolve shipping issues reported to Inventory Control.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies and Sysco’s Food Safety SOPs.
• Assist the Food Safety Program Manager with compliance activities and reporting.
• Maintain a safe work environment and promptly report hazards, incidents or spills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 1 year of experience in warehouse, inventory control, merchandising or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedural manuals.
• Willingness to work the Tuesday‑to‑Saturday shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
