Course Lecturer – Third Year Professional Seminar (K/Elem)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to deliver the third‑year professional seminar for kindergarten and elementary education students in Fall 2026. The instructor will lead a theory‑based, classroom‑focused course that integrates subject areas using the Quebec curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver weekly lectures and classroom activities (Monday 11:35 am‑2:25 pm) in Education Building (EDUC 613).
• Guide students in developing professional portfolios and competencies aligned with the Ministère de l’Éducation standards.
• Coordinate with the teaching team, attending planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback on integrated curriculum projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent research/professional experience) and a teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated experience teaching in elementary schools, preferably within the Quebec system.
• Expert knowledge of the course content and the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
• Familiarity with professional competencies required by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Commitment to collaborative work with a team of instructors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myCourses learning management system.
• Experience using Zoom or similar online meeting platforms.
