Course Lecturer – Theory/Models: Family Therapy

About the role

The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach EDPC 714 – Theory/Models: Family Therapy during the Fall 2026 term. This is a fixed‑term, course‑by‑course appointment focused on delivering in‑person instruction to doctoral students in Counselling and School Psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and facilitate classroom discussions on family therapy theories, models, and interventions.
• Design and assess assignments, case studies, and examinations that reflect current best practices.
• Provide feedback and support to students, ensuring alignment with program competencies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course materials that incorporate recent research and clinical advances.

Required profile

• PhD in Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience working with couples and families.
• Licensed psychologist status.
• Evidence of continuing education (at least 15 CE hours per year) if three or more years post‑degree.
