About the role
The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach EDPC 714 – Theory/Models: Family Therapy during the Fall 2026 term. This is a fixed‑term, course‑by‑course appointment focused on delivering in‑person instruction to doctoral students in Counselling and School Psychology.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver weekly lectures and facilitate classroom discussions on family therapy theories, models, and interventions.
- Design and assess assignments, case studies, and examinations that reflect current best practices.
- Provide feedback and support to students, ensuring alignment with program competencies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date course materials that incorporate recent research and clinical advances.
Required profile
- PhD in Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience working with couples and families.
- Licensed psychologist status.
- Evidence of continuing education (at least 15 CE hours per year) if three or more years post‑degree.
Required skills
- Knowledge of best practices for family and couples therapy.
- Understanding of systems‑informed clinical practice.
