Course Lecturer – Elementary School Science (Fall 2026)

About the role

We are seeking a Course Lecturer to teach EDEE 270‑003 – Elementary School Science in the Fall 2026 term. The lecturer will deliver a three‑credit, in‑person course to pre‑service teachers, covering fundamental science concepts and process skills for elementary education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and laboratory sessions on elementary science pedagogy.
• Develop and assess course materials, assignments, and examinations.
• Coordinate and supervise teaching assistants for laboratory components.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in science education (or equivalent experience).
• Education degree or equivalent with proven experience teaching science to elementary‑aged children.
• Demonstrated expertise in elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the Professional Competencies of the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Experience teaching science within the Quebec school system and to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and ability to manage teaching assistants.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of elementary science content and pedagogy.
• Understanding of the Quebec Education Program and related competencies.
• Experience coordinating laboratory sessions and teaching assistants.
