About the role
The Department of Economics at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach ECON 314-001 Economic Development 2 in the Fall 2026 semester. The position involves delivering lectures, guiding discussions, and assessing student performance for a 3‑credit course.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver two weekly lectures (Monday and Wednesday, 10:05 am–11:25 am) in MAASS 217.
- Prepare and update course materials, including outlines and reading lists.
- Design and grade assignments, exams, and provide feedback to students.
- Maintain office hours and support student inquiries.
Required profile
- Doctoral‑level study in Economics (completed PhD or comprehensive exams).
- Demonstrated high‑quality teaching ability or strong communication skills with potential for teaching excellence.
- Specialization closely aligned with economic development topics.
- Experience as a teaching assistant is an asset.
Required skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
