Course Lecturer – Biostatistics for Health Sciences (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Occupational Health at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach EPIB 507 – Biostatistics for Health Sciences. This part‑time teaching appointment is ideal for a PhD student in biostatistics or statistics who has successfully completed their comprehensive examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two weekly 80‑minute lectures (Tuesday and Thursday, 1:05 pm‑2:25 pm) in EDUC 211.
• Prepare lecture materials, slides, and supplemental resources covering statistical inference, non‑parametric methods, correlation, and introductory linear regression.
• Design and grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations to assess student learning.
• Provide office hours and academic support to enrolled students.

Required profile

• Current PhD student in biostatistics or statistics.
• Successful completion of the PhD comprehensive examination.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work on the Montreal campus.

Required skills

• Statistical inference for means and proportions.
• Non‑parametric statistical methods.
• Correlation analysis.
• Introductory linear regression.
