About the role
McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach PHYS 521 – Astrophysics in the Fall 2026 term. The lecturer will deliver lectures, guide discussions, and assess student performance for a twice‑weekly class.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:05‑2:25 pm lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Prepare and update course materials covering stellar formation, evolution, the Milky Way, galaxies, and cosmology.
- Design and grade assignments, exams, and projects.
- Provide academic support and mentorship to undergraduate students.
Required profile
- Expertise in astrophysics and related research areas.
- Previous university‑level teaching experience is desirable.
- Master’s degree required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Fluent English communication, both spoken and written.
