Cost Controller

About the role

JDS Energy & Mining is looking for an experienced Cost Controller to join its Integrated Project Team and support the delivery of major energy and mining projects. The role focuses on cost control, forecasting, reporting and financial performance monitoring throughout the project lifecycle, helping the team make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update project cost information and budgets.
• Track and analyse actual expenditures against forecasts.
• Prepare regular cost reports for project managers and stakeholders.
• Support forecasting activities and assist in variance analysis.
• Collaborate with Project Controls, engineering, procurement, construction and contractor teams.
• Ensure project expenditures remain aligned with approved budgets and objectives.
• Occasionally travel to project sites to support execution and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost control or cost management on large engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of project finance, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and communicate financial information clearly.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
