Cook – Restaurant Kitchen

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our restaurant kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high‑quality meals, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and estimate food requirements for daily service.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining appropriate stock levels.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and special meals as directed by a dietitian or chef.
• Inspect kitchen and food‑service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Train staff in proper food preparation, cooking techniques, and handling procedures.
• Order supplies and equipment, supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean kitchen and work areas, and manage overall kitchen operations.

Required profile

• No formal degree required; experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically capable of handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Excellent oral communication, reliability, flexibility, and teamwork.
• Good time‑management and organizational skills.
