About the role

Our rapidly growing client is looking for a polished and accountable finance professional to lead accounting operations in a high‑growth environment. Based on‑site in Oakville, Ontario, the Controller will partner with leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, expense reporting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage the monthly close process, perform reconciliations, and support budgeting and variance analysis.
• Prepare and present financial insights and performance updates to senior leadership.
• Coordinate annual audit activities, tax processes, and other compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with finance, HR, and operations teams to strengthen and scale financial processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience; 8–12 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical accounting practices.
• CPA or CFA credentials and experience in investment banking, private equity, or public accounting are preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership and investors.
• Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and sound judgment handling confidential information.
