About the role
ZW Management Inc. is looking for an experienced Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and provide strategic financial guidance. This hands‑on role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment within the construction and project‑management sector.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily banking, cash flow, reconciliations, and deposits.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, EFTs, progress draws, and project billings.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, project cost reports, and account reconciliations.
- Administer weekly union and semi‑monthly payroll cycles, as well as benefit programs.
- Perform Sage 300 tasks such as job and company setup, and system administration.
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close‑out, including accruals and regulatory filings (HST, WSIB, EHT, corporate tax).
- Support financial forecasting, cost tracking, insurance reporting, budgeting, and corporate record maintenance.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or similar designation preferred.
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a senior or controller‑level role.
- Strong background in construction accounting is a significant asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and solid analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
