Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

Pure Hothouse Foods is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead its finance team and oversee the month‑end and year‑end close processes for the Pure Flavor® brand. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for financial reporting, cash management, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate finance team activities, including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, growers’ pay, and inventory management.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary.
• Provide leadership and performance management for a team of 11 finance professionals.
• Manage inter‑company transactions, consolidation, cash management, and inter‑company transfers.
• Calculate bank and debt covenant compliance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting, track variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare special reports and ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal tax filing requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• CPA designation (required).
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, preferably with multi‑currency operations.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and manage complex financial processes.
