Content Specialist

About the role

The Content Specialist will drive digital storytelling for Canlan Sports, creating and sharing engaging content that connects with hockey and broader sports communities. Working under the Manager of Content Marketing, you will produce video, photo, and written assets for social media, email campaigns, and other digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality multimedia content (video, photo, copy) to support campaigns and brand storytelling.
• Edit videos for social platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools.
• Write compelling copy for social posts, emails, and digital assets while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• Schedule and publish content across social channels, engage with audiences, and monitor real‑time comments.
• Research trends, memes, and viral audio to keep content timely and relevant.
• Generate fresh ideas for content calendars, series, and campaigns based on cultural research.
• Capture on‑site footage at Ontario complexes, tournaments, and events, coordinating interviews with athletes and staff.

Required profile

• Deep familiarity with internet culture and social media trends.
• Passion for hockey and recreational sports.
• Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
• Detail‑oriented, fast‑paced work style with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to travel across Ontario for on‑site content production.
