Construction/Contract Administrator – Mechanical & Electrical Projects

About the role

Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction/Contract Administrator to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical infrastructure projects in Ontario. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams across procurement, contract administration, and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Support high‑quality mechanical and electrical infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal project teams on procurement and contract matters.
• Manage schedules, risks, variations, reporting, and overall project controls.
• Act as Engineer’s or Contractor’s Representative on site.
• Lead site meetings, prepare minutes, and guide field staff on contract issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in construction and contract management, preferably in Ontario mechanical/electrical projects.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, risks, variations, and project controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborative, solutions‑focused approach with a client‑oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Experience with progress payments and change orders.
• Strong knowledge of construction best practices, equipment, materials, and quality assurance techniques.
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
