Construction Site Superintendent – Civil & ICI

About the role

The Construction Site Superintendent oversees day‑to‑day operations on heavy civil projects, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Reporting to the Vice‑President of Construction, the Superintendent coordinates resources, equipment, and subcontractors across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction projects in strict accordance with contract documents, Clearway methods, and industry best practices.
• Ensure safety compliance for all labour forces, including subcontractors, and enforce safety and quality‑control policies.
• Maintain daily reports such as journals, health and safety documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
• Coordinate crews, owned and rented equipment, material supply, and subcontractors while fostering positive relationships with owners, unions, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze specifications and drawings, develop construction plans and schedules, and resolve design conflicts with project managers.
• Monitor project costs, review cost reports, and implement corrective actions to stay within budget.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Civil preferred) or Construction Management degree, or equivalent civil construction experience.
• Experience with ICI‑related works such as mechanical/electrical systems, pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and legal eligibility to work in Canada.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, critical‑thinking, and time‑management skills.
